About Tile Tray

Tile Tray is a free puzzle game you play in your browser on phone or desktop, with no download. Tiles with twelve different symbols lie in overlapping layers; a tile is free when nothing covers it, and covered tiles stay dim until you uncover them. Tap a free tile and it flies into a tray with seven slots. Three of a kind in the tray pop for points, and clearing every tile finishes the level, which brings a bigger one with more layers. Fill all seven slots without a triple and the game is over. You get two undos and one shuffle per game. Every day has its own set of layouts, the same for everyone, so scores compare fairly. Made for Arena13.

Controls
Touch: tap a tile that nothing covers. Keyboard: arrow keys or WASD move the cursor, Enter picks a tile, Backspace undoes, X shuffles.
Length
4 min per round

Tips

  1. Count before you tap. A tile is only worth taking when you can see its two partners, or the tiles that cover them.
  2. Keep two slots free as long as you can. A tray at five is the point where one wrong tile ends the game.
  3. Save the undos for the end of a level, when the last covered tiles decide whether the tray fills.
